Cross – Cultural Church

What does the term cross-cultural church mean?

A.  There are three meanings:

1. The Cross of Jesus transcends all cultures to reconcile everyone back to God and to reconcile everyone to one another.

a)  “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” Galatians 3:26-29.

2.  A cross-cultural church is uniting the different cultural experiences found in the church to come together in worship, fellowship, service, evangelism, and biblical teaching.

3. To intentionally be a church that understands the cultures of its members and to honor those cultures in the context of our Christian relationship.
