Past Events — 2003

New Year's Eve Fellowship

Northtowners met at the church building on New Year's Eve at 9:00 p.m. and enjoyed snacks and a couple of hours of family and group games. Then, from 11:00 p.m. until midnight, the group welcomed the new year with prayer and singing.

Christmas Fellowship

On the evening of December 7th, Northtowners met in the homes of several members at 5:30 p.m. for appetizers, and then came to the church building for dessert at 7:00 p.m. Festivities included a devotional, some singing, performances from talented Northtowners, and the recognition of people who have held key service roles at Northtown.

The Power of One


Saturday, November 15, the Youth Group travelled to Green Bay to the "Power of One" Christian rock festival, and saw a performance of the rock opera "!Hero."

Women of Excellence

Friday, October 10th, in the church fellowship hall, WOE met at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate Delora's wedding, and help her prepare for her reception. Young women present had pizza.

Reflect

Saturday, October 11th, the Reflect group met at the Monroe's house at 6:00 p.m. Young men attending brought a snack or something to drink.

Fall Youth Advance

October 24th-26th -- for senior and junior high. Youth went to Frontier Wilderness Campground in Door County and camped out. Michael Blakey led a program on the theme "Priorities and Our Walk with God." Each camper brought home a walking stick -- and a lot of good lessons.

Women of Excellence: Pottery Making

The young women went to Racine to a pottery studio on Saturday, September 13th. They left Northtown at 11:00 a.m., had lunch at the Spenner's house, and then went to the pottery studio to paint their own ceramics.

Corn and Brat Roast

The Annual Northtown Corn and Brat Roast was held on September 7th, immediately after services. It was a great occasion for food and fellowship, and gave visitors a "taste" of Northtown hospitality.

Youth Group Family Outing — Brewers Baseball

August 24, 2003 was the date for a Youth Group family outing to see the Milwaukee Brewers play the Pittsburg Pirates at Miller Park. Members of the Youth Group, and parents, and younger siblings saw the Brewers win dramatically in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Great America

Hey, Coaster Fans! Northtowners went to Great America on Tuesday, August 12th. The cost was $17.00/person (which included parking). Fifty Northtowners signed up!

Youth Lifest

July 10th-13th in Oshkosh, featured bands and speakers. Youth stayed at local church.

Church of Christ Picnic at Kletsch Park

Saturday, August 9, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- the joint Church of Christ picnic at Kletsch Park. Twelve churches were part of the festivities this year. Brentwood was the organizer of this event and Northtown was one of the co-sponsors. About 350 people attented.

2003 Lake Geneva Family Encampment

Lake Geneva Family Encampment offers the opportunity for spiritual renewal and physical refreshment. It was held on Monday, August 4th -- Friday, August 8th. This year one of the featured speakers was our former preacher, Rob McRay, who visited Northtown's evening services on Wednesday night.

Free Indeed

Free Indeed is an a cappella contemporary Christian music ministry that started in 1987 and through the years has become an effective tool for God. The group has led praise and worship at Northtown several times, and those who have seen and heard them make a special effort to see them again. They were at Northtown on Friday evening, July 18th, and led services on Sunday morning, July 20th.

Vacation Bible School

June 15th—June 19th (Sunday through Thursday evenings) was "The Kingdom Celebration." Children visited the kings of old starting with Saul, and ending with the King of All Kings, Jesus. The program included singing, play time, refreshments, and a dramatic journey through time and space!

VBS is for children aged 2 years through 6th grade, but teenagers and adults are welcome to show up, hang around, and enjoy with the children.

Northtown Women's Retreat 2003

The annual Womens' Retreat for 2003 was held February 21st thru February 22nd at Inn on Woodlake in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Youth Rally — 2003

Youth Group — Travelling Devo

Youth traveled to various locations in the Milwaukee area for short devotional meetings on the evening of April 11th, 6:30 p.m. — 10 p.m.

Easter Pancake Breakfast

On Easter morning, April 20th, there were no Sunday School classes, and instead pancakes were served between 8:15 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.

Jerome Williams


Jerome R. Williams is a committed Christian who uses his great musical talent to help spread the message of God’s love. His experience has led to a ministry that has taken him across the U.S. as well as into other nations. He has held positions as Student Director of the Southwestern Christian College chorus, and song leader for churches in Florida, Alabama, New York and Oklahoma.

In 1990 Jerome and Free Indeed Ministries joined their talents to form the widely known "Sing A New Song" series. This Praise and Worship series is used by churches across the U.S. and around the world as well as being enjoyed by thousands in their personal walk with the Lord.

Jerome led a time of worship and praise on Saturday, April 26th at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m.

Women of Excellence — Retreat

On May 9th and May 10th, this retreat was open to all high school girls.

Youth Advance

Not a "retreat" but an "advance," this event for Senior High School youth was held at Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp from May 16th through May 18th.

Life ReCycling Team

Bicyclists from Northtown kicked off the 2003 biking season on Saturday, May 17th, in an event to benefit the Evangelical Child and Family Agency. The ride concluded with lunch and a Christian music concert.
